We have summarised all the key information on the so-called Frühstart-Rente and on your children's retirement provision for you.

With the Frühstartrente, the German government wants to encourage private retirement provision for children, taking the first step towards funded retirement provision. To this end, it plans to pay 10 euros a month into a so-called retirement provision account for every child between the ages of six and 18 – up to 1,440 euros per child in total. The money can then be invested in certain investments, most likely ETFs, shares or other securities.
Open a retirement provision account
Receive state support of up to 1,440 euros over up to twelve years
Invest the money saved up until retirement and boost it with your own contributions
Have it paid out tax-free on retirement
At present, much is still unclear. Which investments will be supported, or how high private contributions may be after the age of 18 to remain tax-free too, has not yet been finalised. We would be happy to keep you informed of all the latest news on the Frühstartrente and on the option of a state-supported investment with quirion. Sign up here for future updates on the topic.
