What is the glide path?

The glide path is a kind of "automatic mechanism" that gradually reduces your equity allocation the closer you get to the start of your retirement. This cushions sharp price fluctuations over time – that is, the typical highs and lows on the stock market that occur above all with equities. In this way, your money is better protected against larger losses at the start of retirement and during the payout phase.
