How does a junior account work?

A junior account is opened in your child's name. Legally and for tax purposes, the money therefore belongs to your child, although the parents manage it until the child comes of age. At the age of 18 (legal majority), the sole right of disposal automatically passes to the child. In doing so, you make use of tax advantages (the child's saver's lump-sum allowance and basic tax-free allowance) and build up wealth for your child over the long term in a transparent way.
