Who (legally) owns the money in the children's account?

If the account was opened in the child's name, the account is also legally the property of the child. Until the child comes of age, the parents or legal guardians are entrusted with the conscientious management of the account as legal representatives. As soon as the child comes of age, they may freely dispose of the account - without the involvement of the parents.
