Start small – and then build up step by step: investing is an investment in the future. With gift cards, you can give that as a present too.
They received a lot of applause. And in April, they were named "Financial Product of the Year" by the German Institute for Service Quality: at the end of 2021, quirion became the first financial service provider in Germany to bring gift cards for investing to the market. Since then, quirion gift cards have been available in around 3,600 participating Edeka stores.
The offering is now being expanded: quirion is now also a partner of the platform wunschgutschein.de. This means its Wunschgutschein vouchers can be used, among other things, as credit to redeem at quirion. The vouchers are available online – and in more than 80,000 supermarkets, drugstores, and gas stations across Germany. So if you want to give investing with quirion as a gift, you now have many more places to turn to.
As part of the redemption process, the Wunschgutschein vouchers are first activated at wunschgutschein.de. If you decide to redeem at quirion, you can choose between three value tiers: credit of €25, €50, and €100. Those redeeming then receive an activation code. Existing customers simply enter it when topping up their portfolio. New customers are first guided through the process of opening a portfolio, in which quirion determines the strategy that suits their individual profile.
Returns for everyone
The additional offering is a further step on the path to breaking down hurdles to investing. "As many people as possible should have the chance to participate in the capital markets," our CEO Martin Daut emphasizes. That, he says, is what quirion's investment strategy is geared toward. "With ten investment variants for our global ETF portfolios, we open up the returns of the world's equity markets for investors with any risk profile."
Digital, simple, and low-cost: providing low-threshold offerings and thereby giving impetus to wealth-building is something Daut considers extremely important. "The younger generations in particular need to take care of their financial future, because they won't be able to rely on the statutory retirement systems alone." Of course, a voucher alone isn't enough to build wealth, he says. But it can be a spark, for example for a savings plan. "Isn't the start of better financial security a sensible gift idea?"
Owning a stake in over 8,000 stocks
A savings plan can be set up at quirion starting from a monthly installment of just €25. It gives investors a stake in the returns of over 8,000 stocks worldwide. Because the savings plans are part of the digital asset management. They aren't limited, as many other savings plan offerings are, to a single security.
Daut is convinced that the gift cards help bring such investment opportunities closer to even more people. "The rollout of the gift cards through Edeka has shown us that many people are interested in the offering. That's why the expansion is the next logical step. More will follow."
